Site down-time

#1
Here is the response from the hosting company.

Quote: Greetings,

]As you might have noticed, your sites were inaccessible for some time due to a hard disk drive failure in one of the servers.

Unfortunately, this is how technology works as those things happen once every 2-5 years (usual hard disk drive lifespan) and they are beyond our control.

Now, we value your hard work and have worked overnight to guarantee that your data is recovered; anything less than 100% was not an option and we have achieved that. Your sites should be up and running as we speak. Since old HDD is still attached to the system, we will have to remove it (on Monday afternoon at 5 PM), which might cause few minutes of the downtime.

Obviously, everyone will receive 1 months' worth of free web hosting (via credits) to their accounts within next few days, there is no question about that.

However, we take such technology weakness very seriously and will be announcing major changes in the next few months to come. With our upcoming server infrastructure, your sites will be online and functioning even if the hard disk drive fails to operate, which means we will guarantee 100% uptime in extreme cases as well.

In addition to that, your server will receive a major boost in hardware, making your sites up to 5 times faster than they are today at no additional cost.

Actions speak louder than words so stay tuned.

Thank you for your patience!

Regards,
